Halloween is upon us and many people are spending a lot of time and money to be frightened at haunted houses and haunted hay rides. This has always fascinated me. I’ve always wondered why anyone would want to pay money to have someone scare them on purpose allowing something to happen to them that they naturally don’t like in the first place? Nonetheless, people flock to these haunted venues each year to be scared to death.
You know, death and hell can be frightening for many people and rightfully so. Deep down every person longs to live forever. In recent years, consumers have flooded the health and beauty market, in search of that special cream or magical pill that will cause them to live longer and evade the effects of time. All the while, time and money is wasted trying to find a solution to the inevitable in search of something that can’t be bought with physical money. A wise man once said, “Life is short, death is certain and eternity is a very, very long time. Where will you spend eternity?” The bible clearly states that even the smallest sin will separate us from a Holy and just God, because sin has no place in God’s presence (Psalm 5:4).
But the Bible also gives us good news; God, in His radical love for us, sent His Son Jesus to take our sin upon Himself. Yes, the bible states that Jesus became sin, so you and I could be free from sin and live in right standing with God (2 Corinthians 5:21). My friend, today is your day! Don’t let another day pass where you step closer to eternity separated from God’s grace. He will forgive the smallest and even the biggest of sins.
The Bible says that If you confess your sin, God is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Say this prayer today, “God, I know that I’m a sinner in need of salvation. My way will lead to destruction, but Your way leads to life and peace. I confess that I’m a sinner in need of a Savior. I believe in Your Son Jesus, that He died for my sins and I put my faith and trust in Him. Forgive me today. Wash me with Your blood and save me now, in Jesus Name, Amen!”
Welcome to the family of God! If you prayed this prayer, please contact us so we can continue to walk with you in this new life in Christ.
God bless you,
