Dear Friends,
I trust you and your family are doing well this holiday season. Amanda and I want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from our house to yours!
We are so excited to share with you all the Lord has done on our most recent trip to South Asia. We just returned from Tura, which is a small city in the mountains of Asia. In this small city of Tura, I was invited to preach a Gospel Crusade where the population is only 55,000 people and on the final night of the crusade, we saw over 20,000 people attend and we recorded close to 4,500 decisions for Christ over four days! The local pastors told me that the largest church in their city is only 300 members, and because of this, they’re not sure what they are going to do with all the new converts! They had only anticipated seeing 400 decisions for Christ this week, but now their churches will be overflowing with new growth. Praise God! This is a good problem to have if you’re a Pastor in Asia. We believe this is just a sample of the great harvest that is waiting to be reaped in Asia!
God has been so faithful as we’re launching out with these crusades and we’re now looking with expectation to our next Gospel Crusade, which will be in May of 2015 in the city of Peddapali, where the Christian population is less than 2%! Our crusade director has been working diligently with all the local churches making preparations for the crusade and all the new converts that will come from it. Please prayerfully consider helping us in any way as we continue to raise financial support for this crusade.
As we look to the future, we are so excited about what God wants to do in this nation and around the world. We currently have invitations to do crusades next year in several countries in Asia, and because of this, we need monthly partners in order to better budget these campaigns. November 2014 Newsletter – Tura
In December Amanda and I will travel with her brother Bryan to the remote city of Tura for a Gospel Crusade and Fire (training) Conference. This place is one of three states (of the 29 total states) where Christianity is the majority of all religions (70%). However, in recent years, crime and poverty have set in and as a result, the people have given up much hope. A recent report states that many of the youth are now practicing satanism and locals believe the youth are “having an identity crisis”.
The current situation in Tura is desperate. Many young people have turned to gangs and rebel groups that steal and murder to make ends meet. There are currently two opposing rebel gangs that hide out in the mountains who are at war with each other for power. They kidnap their victims to hold them at ransom and they have lost all hope in this life. My crusade director in Tura reported to me that, “The situation in our state is deteriorating every-day. The community is corrupted with evil systems. The people have lost their hope, thus the state turns turmoil and the Churches have lost their vision.” But my friends, we know that the hope we have in Christ Jesus is the hope of SALVATION. The Bible says in 1 Tim. 4:10, “For to this end we toil and strive, because we have OUR HOPE set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”
I believe this is a divine moment for us to go to this desperate region of Asia. Here is a state that knows the Gospel, but they seem to have lost the light and power of it. They are surrounded by radicle states that hate the Gospel and rather than being a light in the darkness, the light has become dim and dull. But there is good news! We are coming with the Light of the Gospel, and with the Holy Spirit’s help, along with your prayers, we will see a mighty revival in this city! For we know the Lord’s hand is not to short that it cannot save (Isaiah 59:1).
Please pray for protection and for the Power of the Holy Spirit to bring change in this desperate place. Would you also prayerfully consider standing with us financially as we go?
