Dear Ministry Partner,
This year marks the year of another presidential election that just might be one of the most significant elections in our nations history. All over the TV, the newspapers and social media we hear advertisements for this years presidential election and slogans for each nominee. As I read one of the slogans the other day, I felt like God spoke something to me and I want to share it with you.
Hearing the popular slogan, Make America Great Again, I couldn’t help but think that as Christians, we should desire something similar for our nation – to Make America Christian Again! I am not endorsing any candidate here. I do believe God’s heart is to see America saved and that God’s desire is to see our country come back to the cross – to come back to our First Love – to come back to Jesus!
Recently we’ve heard of and even witnessed some great atrocities in our country. We’ve seen horrific acts of violence, lawlessness and hate. We’ve seen great darkness come over our nation. However, I have good news! The light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ always shines brightest in the darkness and the darkness cannot comprehend the light (John 1:5). This is the reason Jesus came to this world. He came to shine the light of the Gospel. To bring hope to the hopeless, freedom to the bound and salvation to the sinner!
The issues our country and our world face will not be fixed by politics or policies. The only hopefor our world is Jesus Christ! The issues in our world stem from the darkness within the souls of men. Jesus has come to reign in our lives and to deliver us from the power of darkness and convey us into the kingdom of the Son of His love (Colossians 1:13). This is why Jesus came to this earth, died for our sins and rose again. He didn’t just come to get us to heaven one day. He came to deliver us from the power of darkness and sin! He came to set us free! He came to give us life and life more abundantly! He came to change us from the inside out!
This is why I’m saying it’s time for us to Make America Christian Again and there is only one way for that to happen – by the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Romans 10:14-15, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?” My friends, as believers, we have the answer our world needs right now and it’s the love of Jesus Christ – it’s the message of the cross – it’s the message of salvation through Jesus alone. We have an opportunity every day to share this message with the world around us. I want to encourage you today to start sharing this message everywhere you go and help us bring the Gospel to America again.
In just two weeks from today we will be doing a Gospel Crusade in Minnesota. Will you help us bring the Gospel to those who need salvation in Minnesota?
